Dementia is a progressive neurological condition. Whilst Dementia cause memory loss it can also impact on many other areas of a person's everyday life and cause individuals to experience speech decline, low mood, reduced mobility, reduced understanding, and loss of ability to undertake daily living tasks. 
 
Individuals living with Dementia can require specialised care to ensure that health needs, well being and individual safety are all safely and fully met.

Ashgate house are a dementia specialist nursing home that are passionate about providing high quality, personalised care with dignity and respect. 
 
Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and can provide specialised equipment such as; Specialist mobility aids, pressure relieving equipment, electronic monitoring systems to support falls reduction and safety and smart living technology such as sensor lighting systems. 
 
Our homely environment is also equipped with memory aids, easy read documents and easy use technology to support sensory and wellbeing needs being well met. 
 
Our staff are expierenced in supporting individuals with all types of Dementia diagnosis and have undertaken indepth Dementia training. 
 
Our team at Ashgate house work closely with health care proffessionals including; physiotherapist, occupational therapistis, speach and language therapists and mental health practioners to ensure the physical and pschological wellbeing of our residents are fully supported. 
 
As our residents needs change, we review and assess the level of support they require and adapt our care and support accordingly.  
 
Home Cooked Meals 
At Ashgate house all meals are prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our in house chef plans and prepares a nutritonal and delicious menu that caters to all dietry needs and preferences. Residents can look forward to breakfast, lunch and dinner that offers choice and variety. Snacks and refreshments are all avaialable 24 hours a day.

Respecting and keeping confidential all information about them. 
Respecting individual’s preference to be alone and undisturbed.

Ensuring individual’s can receive visitors and make and receive telephone calls in private. 
Discuss aspects of their care (care planning) in private. 
Requesting to enter a person’s bedroom and waiting for permission to do so.
